A lot changes in a year. In the past year alone I’ve finished my first year of college and started my second. I’ve made some of the best friends of my life and become a more independent and adult person. After a year I’m one big step closer to becoming the person I hope to one day be and achieving the things I hope to one day accomplish. A lot changes in a year. Three hundred and sixty five days is a lot of seconds. And every second counts when you’re sharing it with someone you love.
The past year has been so special to me because I got to spend it with the girl I love: Rashika Catherine Kaushik.
Just kidding. Her middle name isn’t really Catherine. It’s Charlotte. But it’ll be funny when she reads that and thinks for a second I don’t know her middle name. Moving on…
Rashika is the most wonderful girlfriend anyone could ask for. She’s also the best friend anyone could ever hope for. We’ve been through a lot together and come out on top. We’re stronger than we were at the start and ready for the future.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a very gushy emotional person. I do my best to show how much I care about Ms. Kaushik but I’m not always the most vocal when it comes to matters of the heart. It’s just the way I am. That said, let it be known:
I love Rashika Kaushik!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I could write a letter that was pages long, but I tend to say what I mean and what’s important. Sometimes that ends up being much shorter than what someone else would write, but I believe I pack a lot more meaning into my words than others. An “I love you” from Rob Haffey has a lot more thought and feeling behind it than pages of romantic drivel from someone else. So again, I love you Rashika!
I’m excited for our weekend together and I’m even more excited to share a whole new year with you!
